Tamil heritage inference (beta)

Mix Tamil names, villages, occupations, kuladeivam and rituals to get a narrative hint of where your family fits in Tamil history.

This is an experimental heritage inference tool. It does not replace proper genealogy or records, but it can help you have better conversations with your family. For more genealogy tools, check out our family tree tools or explore your family connections.

Step 1 • Tell us what you remember

  • Include kinship terms like 'Aachi' (grandmother) or 'Paatti' if you do not know the actual name.
  • Even vague hints help: 'delta region', 'hill area', 'coastal village'.
  • Traditional roles: landowner, cattle herder, fisherman, weaver, stone carver, teacher.
  • Village guardian: Samayapuram Mariamman, Palani Murugan, or your local village temple.
  • Family practices: ancestral rites, cattle worship, first rice ceremony, pilgrimage habits.

What this tool actually does

We look at patterns that often appear together — river deltas and certain crops, kuladeivams and regions, occupations and migration routes. Then we generate a narrative guess of where your Tamil roots might sit. Learn more about How TamizhConnect Works and heritage preservation techniques.
