- Moses, Elias, Isaac, Abraham — Old Testament names common among Lutheran (Danish-Halle mission) and Anglican converts.
Sponsor-type surnames
- Schwartz — after Christian Friedrich Schwartz of Tanjore (18th-century Lutheran).
- Caldwell — after Robert Caldwell, first Anglican bishop of Tirunelveli.
